For the Love of Water
Born and raised in Eastern North Carolina, I’ve spent my life on the water. From an early age, fishing became more than a hobby, it became a passion that has shaped who I am today. Whether I’m chasing fish offshore, exploring our local waters, or simply enjoying a sunrise on the coast, there’s nowhere I’d rather be.
That same passion for serving others led me to a career in the Fire Service and EMS, where I’ve spent over 20 years helping people during some of their most challenging moments. Through both careers, I’ve learned that life is about making memories, enjoying the journey, and spending time with the people who matter most.
As a USCG Licensed Captain, my goal is simple: provide a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience on the water for anglers of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned fisherman or stepping aboard for the very first time, I look forward to sharing the beauty of Eastern North Carolina and helping create memories that will last a lifetime.
The name IDM Charters comes from my favorite saying: “It Doesn't Matter, as long as we're on the water.” For me, those words represent leaving the stress of everyday life behind, embracing the moment, and enjoying everything the water has to offer. I invite you to come experience it for yourself.
About The Charter
At IDM Charters, your safety and comfort are our top priorities. Our vessels are fully licensed and insured and equipped with all required USCG safety equipment, including an EPIRB, along with modern Garmin navigation and fish-finding electronics.
We operate two boats to fit your fishing adventure: a 25-foot Contender and a 21-foot Sea Hunt. We are licensed to carry up to six passengers, although four anglers are recommended aboard the Sea Hunt for the most comfortable experience.
We proudly welcome anglers of all ages and experience levels and especially encourage youth anglers, families, and ladies to join us on the water. All trips include bottled water, rods, reels, tackle, rigs, and bait. Fish cleaning is not included but can be arranged through local fish houses or head boats for their posted fee.
If a mate is aboard your trip, gratuities are appreciated, with the customary tip being 20%.
At IDM Charters, we believe fishing is about more than just catching fish. It's about spending time with family and friends, making memories, and escaping the stress of everyday life. Our goal is simple: provide a safe, relaxed, and enjoyable experience while showing you the best our coastal waters have to offer. Full Day Offshore
Trolling/Bottom Fishing( $2100.00)
Typical trip runs 06:30 AM-5:30 PM
Species include King Mackerel,Wahoo, Tuna, Bonito, Dolphin, and False Albacore. Assortment of bottom fish. Weather permitting we will push further for Bill Fish.
3/4 Day Offshore
Trolling/Bottom Fishing( $1800.00)
Typical trip runs 06:30 AM-3:00 PM
Species include King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Bonito, Dolphin, and False Albacore. Assortment of bottom fish.
3/4 Near Shore
Trolling/Bottom Fishing($1200.00)
Typical trip runs 06:30 AM-2:30 PM
Species include King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Bonito, Dolphin, and False Albacore. The trip can be extended upon request at $100 an hour.
1/2 Day Near Shore
Trolling/Bottom Fishing($800.00)
Our 1/2 day charters last for 5 hours each. We will depart at either 7 a.m. or 1 p.m. depending on your preference and availability. This is a great trip for our youth anglers or anyone wanting to go out for the first time as we stay within 10 miles of the beach. Typical catch on these trips is Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Bonito, and King Mackerel.
Half Day Spanish/King/Cobia AM
Spinning Tackle/Live Bait ($600.00)
Typical trip runs 06:00AM-11:00AM
On this trip, you will be fishing the flats, creeks, and marshes around Cape Lookout, targeting Red Drum, Speckled Trout, and Flounder. Other commonly caught species are sharks, Bluefish, and Spanish.
Half Day Spanish/King/CobiaPM
Spinning Tackle/Live Bait ($600.00)
Typical trip runs 03:00PM-08:00PM
On this trip, you will be fishing the flats, creeks, and marshes around Cape Lookout, targeting Red Drum, Speckled Trout, and Flounder. Leave time can be adjusted, and you will also enjoy the sunset on the water. Other commonly caught species are sharks, Bluefish, and Spanish.
Sunset Cruise
Leisure Time($100.00 HR 3 HOUR MINIMUM)
Enjoy an evening cruise with your friends or significant other. Let us be your Limo on the water. We can discuss your itinerary when you book your date.
Tournament Fishing

Sea Hunt Trips and Prices
The prices below are for the boat and not per person. Our license allows us to carry 6 passengers. The Sea Hunt is a smaller boat so we recommend 4 passengers but will accommodate for additional fuel surcharge. Click link to book and check availability.
